The Damongo constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Abdul Rahaman Kadiri has officially declared his intention to contest and be retained as the Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Damongo, as the party embarks on a restructuring process ahead of future elections.
Addressing members of the media, party executives, polling station officers, electoral area coordinators, council of elders, patrons, youth, and supporters at his residence on Tuesday, 21st April, 2026, Mr. Rahaman emphasized the importance of continuity, experience, and proven leadership in strengthening the party at the constituency level.
According to him, his decision to seek re-election is driven not by entitlement but by a strong commitment to consolidate the gains made and to work towards greater electoral success for the NPP in Damongo. He highlighted the sacrifices and challenges he has faced in office, noting that his dedication to the party has remained unwavering.
Mr. Rahaman underscored his deep familiarity with the constituency, stating that he has engaged extensively with polling stations and grassroots structures, giving him a clear understanding of the party’s strengths and challenges.
He further stressed that the role of Constituency Secretary requires competence and institutional knowledge, describing it as a position that should not be subjected to experimentation. His experience and performance, he noted, have earned him recognition among party members, some of whom refer to him as the “walking Electoral Commission.”
