Emmanuel Okatakyie Safo Sadari, the outgoing Deputy Savannah Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, has officially declared his intention to contest for the substantive position of Savannah Regional Secretary.
Safo Sadari made the declaration in a signed statement dated 10th August 2026, addressed to party comrades, elders, founding fathers, regional and constituency executives, Members of Parliament, MMDCEs, and the rank and file of the NDC in the Savannah Region.
In the statement, he reflected on his four years of service as Deputy Regional Secretary, describing the period as one shaped by “humility, commitment, and dedication.” He expressed gratitude to party members for the confidence reposed in him and said the work ahead required strengthening unity, deepening commitment, and rebuilding trust within the party structure.
Explaining his motivation for seeking the top secretariat position, Safo Sadari said he believes the Regional Secretariat must become the nerve centre of an efficient, united, transparent, accountable, innovative, and responsive NDC; one that listens to its members and responds to challenges at the grassroots.
He pledged that, if given the mandate, he would lead with integrity, humility, courage, fairness, transparency, and accountability, under the campaign message “The Savannah Project — Creating a Bold Future.”
Safo Sadari joins what is expected to be a competitive race for the Savannah Regional Secretary position ahead of the NDC’s regional executive elections.
