MP Donates GH¢200,000 Toward Bole Teacher Training College, Announces GH¢1 Million Education Fund

The Member of Parliament for the Bole–Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has donated GH¢200,000 to support activities leading to the establishment of a Teacher Training College in Bole.

He made the announcement during the 69th Independence Day celebration held on March 6, 2026 in the Bole District.

The MP commended the Bolewura, the District Chief Executive and the youth of Bole for initiating the move to establish the teacher training college, noting that the facility will greatly improve access to teacher education in the district.

In addition to the donation, the MP announced plans to establish a GH¢1 million educational fund in April this year to support brilliant but needy students in the constituency.

According to him, the fund will be financed from his personal investments and savings and will support students irrespective of political affiliation.

EDUCATION

Highlighting developments in the education sector, the MP disclosed that Bole Senior High School has received over 2,000 chairs and 2,000 tables, while more than 4,000 tables and 4,000 chairs have also been distributed to schools across the district.

He said the goal is to ensure that no school in the district lacks furniture by the end of the year.

He also announced several infrastructure projects for Bole SHS, including plans to cut sod for the construction of boys’ and girls’ dormitories, an ICT laboratory, a modern assembly hall and teachers’ bungalows, in addition to the renovation of the school’s administration block.

The MP further disclosed that the Tinga STEM School project has been awarded to Mawus Company Limited, with the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, expected to cut sod for the commencement of the project.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND DEVELOPMENT

The MP also indicated that Bole will soon benefit from a new district hospital, while plans are underway to tar major town roads within the district.

He expressed optimism that ongoing and upcoming projects will help transform Bole into a tourism hub before the end of President Mahama’s tenure.

SPORTS DEVELOPMENT

In the area of sports, the MP announced plans to construct Astro Turf facilities in Tinga, Banda-Nkwanta and Bamboi to promote football development among the youth.

He noted that the Bole Astro Turf project will soon be completed after technical defects identified at the facility are corrected.

As part of efforts to promote sports in schools, the MP pledged to provide each of the 33 schools that participated in the parade with a set of jerseys and a football.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT

The MP further announced GH¢50,000 for the District Education Directorate to support the preparation of the U-13 regional team for the Milo Games in Sunyani.

He also pledged GH¢20,000 to the security services for refreshments, GH¢20,000 to teachers, and GH¢10,000 to private schools in the district.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive for Bole District, speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, urged residents to work together to build prosperity and restore hope in line with this year’s Independence Day theme.

He emphasized the importance of agriculture, youth empowerment, education, and unity in achieving sustainable development in the district.

The celebration brought together traditional authorities, government officials, teachers, students and security agencies to mark 69 years of Ghana’s independence.
