MP Cuts Sod for Major Infrastructure Expansion at Bole Senior High School.

The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, has cut sod for the construction of several major infrastructure projects at Bole Senior High School as part of efforts to improve teaching and learning conditions in the school.

The projects include a state-of-the-art ICT laboratory, two one-storey dormitory blocks for boys and girls, a befitting assembly hall, and one four-in-one teachers’ bungalow capable of accommodating about sixteen families. The sod-cutting ceremony took place on March 7, 2026, marking another significant step in addressing the school’s longstanding infrastructure deficit.

The new development comes just weeks after an earlier sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a home economics laboratory, a sick bay, and the renovation of the school’s administration block.

Speaking at the ceremony, the MP expressed appreciation to the staff of the school for their dedication and hard work despite the infrastructural challenges facing the institution. He noted that the school has lagged behind in terms of infrastructure for many years, stressing that his office is committed to changing that narrative.

According to him, efforts are underway to elevate the school from its current status to Category A, explaining that expanding and improving the school’s existing facilities is a critical first step toward achieving that goal.

He emphasized the importance of providing teachers’ accommodation, noting that comfortable and stable living conditions for teachers would significantly enhance their ability to deliver quality education and ultimately improve students’ academic performance.

The MP also charged the contractor, Blessing Company Limited, to ensure the timely delivery of the projects while maintaining high construction standards.

He warned that shoddy work would not be accepted, adding that contractors who deliver quality projects stand a better chance of being considered for more development projects in the future.

When asked about the funding source, the MP explained that the projects are being financed by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund). He recounted how he personally visited the school with technical experts from GETFund to assess the infrastructural challenges confronting the institution.

According to him, the visit revealed that the school had been neglected for a long time, making the new projects necessary to restore its growth and development.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr. Abubakari Mahama Salia, expressed profound gratitude for the intervention, describing the moment as overwhelming for both staff and students.

He recalled that when officials from GETFund visited the school with the MP to assess its infrastructure needs, the staff were initially skeptical and believed it might not materialize.

However, he said the commencement of the projects has renewed their hope and will likely open the floodgates for more transformative developments at the school.

Mr. Salia assured the contractor of the school management’s readiness to collaborate closely to ensure quality work is delivered, adding that the school will provide all necessary support whenever the need arises.

The contractor, Mr. Osman Hudu, also addressed the gathering, extending warm greetings to the President of the Republic and praising the MP for what he described as his hard work, courage, selflessness, and commitment to development.

He disclosed that his company is responsible for the construction of the two dormitory blocks and the assembly hall, and assured stakeholders that the projects would be completed within the 18-month timeline.

Mr. Hudu further promised to personally supervise the works until completion, stressing that he is not the type of contractor who abandons projects midway.

The projects are expected to significantly improve boarding accommodation, digital learning facilities, and staff welfare at Bole Senior High School once completed.
