Kudus Gbeadese Declares Intent to Contest for Savannah NDC Regional Secretary in Exclusive Spear FM Interview

Savannah Regional Secretary aspirant, Issifu Seidu Kudus Gbeadese, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region.

Mr. Gbeadese made the declaration on Friday, March 20, 2026, during an exclusive interview on “This is Savannah Super Morning Show”, the award-winning morning programme on Spear FM, hosted by Doninge Cajetan.

During the interview, Mr. Gbeadese outlined his motivation, experience, and vision for the party should he be given the mandate by delegates to serve as the regional scribe.

Currently serving as the Executive Secretary to the Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, he also doubles as a board member of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency.

Within the party, he is an active member of the Savannah Regional Communication Team of the NDC and also serves on the communication team of the Damongo Constituency.

Mr. Gbeadese revealed that he has already toured all constituencies in the Savannah Region to inform party executives and grassroots members about his intention to contest for the position.

According to him, his decision to contest is driven by his unwavering appetite for growth and service, noting that his political activism dates back to 2004. He emphasized that his passion for community development and the growth of the NDC in the Savannah Region has been a major motivation behind his decision.

Recounting his political journey, Mr. Gbeadese disclosed that he once served as the TEIN Organizing Secretary at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Around 2012, he also served as an aide to the then District Chief Executive of West Gonja District, gaining valuable experience in governance and public administration.

He acknowledged that at different points in his political career, he had expressed interest in serving the region in other capacities but was asked by party leadership to step down. However, he stressed that he never turned his back on the party and continued to work tirelessly to help bring the NDC back to power in 2025.

Mr. Gbeadese further disclosed that before publicly declaring his intention, he sought the blessings and guidance of key party leaders, including the Savannah Regional Minister and current Regional Secretary of the NDC, Salisu Be-Awuribe, as well as the Regional Chairman and other executives of the party. According to him, they all gave him their support and encouragement.

Speaking on his vision for the role, Mr. Gbeadese emphasized the need to maintain a balance between government and the party, explaining that effective coordination between government appointees and party structures is essential for the success of the NDC in the region.

He noted that many government appointees often struggle to communicate their achievements to the public. To address this, he said he intends to create a platform where government appointees can regularly highlight their work, while giving the media the opportunity to question and scrutinize them.

On grassroots mobilization, Mr. Gbeadese stressed the importance of youth engagement, describing it as a critical pillar for strengthening the party. He noted that empowering and mobilizing the youth has always been one of his key advocacies.

The aspiring Regional Secretary also outlined benchmarks by which he expects to be assessed one year after assuming office if given the mandate. Among them are measurable performance indicators, maintaining harmony between the roles of the Regional Chairman and Secretary, and ensuring constant accessibility to party members.

He emphasized that he will make himself readily available to the grassroots, stating that answering and returning phone calls promptly will be a key part of his leadership style. He added that honesty and sincerity will remain his hallmark in the discharge of his duties.

Despite outlining his vision, Mr. Gbeadese noted that it is not yet time for campaigns, and therefore he would not delve deeply into some of the detailed plans he has for the party.

He also urged his supporters and admirers to avoid politics of insults and provocation, encouraging them to remain peaceful and focused on ensuring a fair and respectful political process.

Using the platform, Mr. Gbeadese prayed for peace in the Savannah Region, Ghana, and the world at large. He also highlighted some developmental projects currently being undertaken by the government, while stressing the importance of unity within the NDC, from the branch level through the constituency structures up to the regional leadership.

According to him, unity, discipline, and effective coordination will be crucial for strengthening the party and sustaining its progress in the Savannah Region.
