The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Hon. Yusif Sulemana, has donated 500 bags of fertilizer to support farmers in Larabanga, Mognori, Murugu and other surrounding communities in the Savannah Region. The kind gesture is aimed at boosting agricultural production and helping farmers improve crop yields during the farming season.
This intervention is expected to ease the burden of purchasing farm inputs and encourage increased food production. The donation forms part of the MP’s continued efforts to support agriculture, which remains the main source of livelihood for many residents in the Savannah region.
Speaking at the donation ceremony, Hon. Yusif Sulemana said although Larabanga is outside his constituency, the development of Ghana is a shared responsibility that should not be limited by political boundaries. He noted that Larabanga also holds a special place in his heart as the hometown of his mother.
“This evening I’m here at larabanga to be precise, that is my mother’s village to fraternize with them once again and to also donate about 500 bags of fertilizer to be distributed to farmers within the community. Like I said this is my mother’s home and so the last time I came here during the campaign, the received me very well and so I thought that, once a while I should always come back and show appreciation “.
Hon Yusif Sulemana further stated that had the Member of Parliament for Damongo been present during his visit, he would have been pleased to make the donation alongside him as a demonstration of unity and commitment to the welfare of the people.
“Development of the country is not for an individual. The have an assembly man, unit committee members and an MP, Hon Abu Jinapor and so we have to work together. Had it been that the MP was here, we would have been doing this donation together “
Community members expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely support that will reduce production costs and help many farmers achieve better harvests this season.
