The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Dr. Yusif Sulemana, has undertaken a two-day sod-cutting and inspection tour across several communities in his constituency, reaffirming his commitment to improving educational infrastructure in the area.
The tour, conducted on April 24 and 25, 2026, covered Bodi, Daboyiri, Gbenfu, Mankuma, Manful, and Kakiase, where new school projects were launched and ongoing construction works inspected.
At Bodi, Hon. Sulemana cut sod for a three-unit classroom block, fulfilling a campaign promise made in 2023. He commended residents for their determination, noting that community members had already pooled funds and secured land in efforts to establish a school on their own.
At Daboyiri, the MP highlighted a community-driven model he championed, partnering with a local church to provide temporary classrooms and personally funding monthly allowances for volunteer teachers. Some of the schools established under the initiative have since been absorbed by the Ghana Education Service.
In Gbenfu, he inspected a dilapidated JHS block described as a “death trap” and confirmed reconstruction was underway. He also announced plans to recruit five local graduates to support teaching in the community.

At Mankuma, Hon. Sulemana handed over a project site for a six-unit classroom block with a library, while at Kakiase and Manful, he inspected ongoing renovation works and pledged to use his share of the MP’s Common Fund to fix deteriorating school structures across the constituency.
He further assured that furniture provision would be extended to primary schools, adding that structural repairs must accompany furnishing efforts.
In an emotional reflection on the role education played in shaping his own life, Hon. Sulemana said: “Clearly, some of us who did not come from affluent homes have gained recognition in society because of education. What we can do is to give back to society what society has given to us. The Bole area gave me education, and I have a responsibility to give that same opportunity to the young ones coming up.”
