Damongo based Spear FM 91.9 MHz has been adjudged Tourism Oriented Media House of the Year at the 2026 Savannah Regional Tourism Awards.
The prestigious event took place on Friday, 11th September, 2026 at the Wuripe and Sons Royal Lodge, Bole.
The award was received on behalf of Spear FM by the General Manager of the radio station, Mr. Adam Akilu Gideon.
The ceremony, organized to honour institutions and individuals who have distinguished themselves in the tourism and hospitality industry in the Savannah Region, was graced by several high-profile dignitaries.
In attendance was the Guest of Honour, the Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salisu Be-Awuribe. The program was chaired by Prof. Raymond Adongo, Head of Department of Ecotourism and Hospitality Management, UDS Tamale.
Also present were Hon. Abdulai Mahamud MCE for Bole, Hon. Kassim Rabiu MCE for East Gonja, and Hon. Yakubu Yussif Castro MCE for West Gonja Municipal.
Other dignitaries included Mr. Alhassan Baba Darison, President of the Gonjaland Youth Association and his executives, Kanyepewura Solomon Salifu Tampuri Esq., Mr. Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi of the Corporate Affairs Department, Ghana Tourism Authority Head Office, Accra, who represented the CEO of the GTA, and Bugewura M.M, who represented the Bolewura and the Bole Traditional Council, and a host of other stakeholders in the tourism sector.
