The Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency, Hon. Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor, has joined the Savannah Regional Minister Hon. Salisu Be-awuribe, the Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah, the MCE for West Gonja Hon. Yakubu Yussif Castro and other stakeholders to commission a number of rural electrification and electricity extension projects across the constituency.
The project, which commenced in 2023 and has been completed under the current Mahama administration, covers the connection of electricity to Seyiri, Kpiri, Frafra No. 6 and Jebito, as well as electricity extension works in Damongo Azurekura, Damongo Atributo No. 1, Atributo No. 2, and the Damongo Cathedral area.
Speaking at the commissioning, Hon. Abu Jinapor described access to reliable electricity as a critical catalyst for development, noting that it improves livelihoods, supports businesses, enhances education and healthcare delivery, strengthens security, and creates opportunities for economic growth. He said the completion of the project would make a meaningful difference in the lives of the beneficiary communities and further accelerate development within the constituency.
He added that when a community works together, and when the NDC and NPP work together, it is the community that benefits, noting that this is exactly what Damongo has demonstrated.
“I look forward to the continued progress of our communities and remain committed to serving the people of Damongo with dedication and purpose,” Hon. Abu Jinapor said.
He further expressed gratitude to the Savannah Regional Minister and the Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition for their support towards the commissioning of the projects.
