Alhaji Rambo Fined Over GHC 40,000 at Damongo Circiut Court Over Fuzzy Sorku House Invasion.

The political violence that rocked Damongo in recent days has taken a significant legal turn, as one of the key figures in the saga appeared before the Damongo Circuit Court on Tuesday, 9th June 2026.

Alhaji Rambo, who led a group of NPP youth to the residence of NDC supporter Fuzzy Sorku in what was described as a retaliatory move, was charged by the Damongo Circuit Court for unlawful entry into Fuzzy Sorku’s residence without his consent, causing damage to property, and assault.

The court handed down fines totalling GHC 40,400.00, broken down as GHC 20,000.00 for causing damage to Fuzzy Sorku’s property and GHC 20,400.00 for assault. In addition, the court directed Alhaji Rambo to sign a bond of good behaviour. The New Patriotic Party, as a political party, supported to pay the fines on his behalf, securing his release. That aspect of the matter has since been settled.

What remains unresolved, however, is the case involving Fuzzy Sorku and the victim of the original assault, Alhaji Barony.

Spear FM can report that the assault, which took place in Tamale, has been reported to the Northern Regional Police Command. Fuzzy Sorku is expected to be formally invited by the Northern Regional Police Command and subsequently arraigned before court to answer for his alleged role in the attack on Alhaji Barony.

Following the court proceedings in Damongo, information gathered by Spear FM indicates that both parties were invited by the Yagbonwura, the overlord of Gonjaland, who appealed for the matter to be settled out of court. However, NPP leadership responded that the case filed by the NDC in Damongo has already been disposed of by the court, with Alhaji Rambo paying the total fines of GHC 40,400.00 and signing the bond of good behaviour. The NPP further stated that they would allow the remaining case between Fuzzy Sorku and Alhaji Barony to run its full course at the court in Tamale.
