The Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salisu Biawurbi, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, joined hundreds of Muslim faithful at the Damongo Town Astroturf Park to observe Eid-ul-Adha prayers.
The minister was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive for West Gonja, Hon. Yakubu Yussif Castro, and party executives.
Also present were the King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bikunuto Jewu Soale I, the Damongowura Seidu Kelly Boresa, the Yagbon Imam Alhaji Kassim, the Nsua Wura, and several sub-chiefs of the Damongo Traditional Area.
The prayers, which drew hundreds of Muslim men, women, and children from across the municipality, were led by the Savannah Regional Chief Imam, who also serves as the Damongo Chief Imam, Alhaji Amadu.
The Savannah Regional Minister appealed to the Regional Chief Imam to offer prayers for God’s forgiveness and good health for the people of the region. He also used the platform to caution the youth against illicit drug abuse, reminding them that as future leaders of Damongo, Ghana, and the world, they bear a great responsibility.
The event began and ended peacefully.
